Lend me your ear, and i shall tell you the most amazing secrets, the strangest of tales, the sweetest words, said the kind snake to the wary firebird. I will tell you why the world is round and the summer sky so beautiful. I will tell you about the grandest of all firebirds, the first to rise from it's ashes. I will tell you stories about kind monsters and forgotten gods, about times gone by. For i am but a snake. I crawl, unaided and despised, feared as a creature of darkness. Yet with my open eyes i see things that happen now, and through the eyes of my ancesters i see things that happened a long time ago. And if you, kind friend, lend me your ear, to you everything i know i shall confide.
And so, wide eyed, the firebird listened intently...
